Reflexology: A Healing Art

What is Foot Reflexology?

Reflexology is an alternative therapy which applies pressure on the feet to help bring the whole body into balance. Your body is mapped out in your feet and by working those points, the body’s natural electrical energy works along the nervous system to clear any blockages and break up deposits which may interfere with the natural flow of the body’s energy, therefore putting your body back into balance, as well as producing a great feeling of relaxation.

How can Reflexology help you?

Reflexology can be used for any ailments and on anyone. As its goal is to restore the body’s own equilibrium, it helps the body heal itself. It has been shown to be effective for: migraines, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances, digestive disorders, circulatory disorders, allergies, sinus problems and much more. While putting pressure on the reflexes, it is the therapist’s skill as well as your verbal input to figure out how much pressure will be used.

What to expect on your first visit.

The first time, you will be asked to fill out a health history form, so that the therapist has an idea of what is going on, try and get to the cause of the problem you may be coming in for. Once the therapist knows a little more about you, the session may start. You will be sitting comfortably, closing your eyes for the total effect of relaxation while the therapist starts to work on the feet. The session takes about 45 minutes where you will either fall asleep or want to. The therapist may let you know about their findings, and if needed will give you a treatment plan to follow. It has been known that some people may feel nauseous or sad or uncomfortable after the first session, but this is completely normal and sometimes part of the healing process. Sometimes, people keep their emotions bottled up and they appear as physical symptoms; reflexology uses a therapeutic touch to help release these buried stresses.

REFLEXOLOGY ONCE A MONTH HELPS KEEP YOUR BODY BALANCED FOR A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE!!!
